Windmill Update:
Rottingdean Heritage are pleased to announce Phase 1 of the major maintenance works are now complete. These included:
Exterior cleaning, painting, and weatherproofing.
The interior thoroughly cleaned and the metalwork and electrics upgraded
Phase 2 will commence next summer in 2026 (weather permitting) and will involve work on the stocks and sails.
**April Update**
Our planned major maintenance work on the Mill is due to start in May. The work, amongst other things, includes the making and fitting of new stocks – the arms which secure the sweeps. These are being made in Holland.
It is anticipated that the works will last about 8 weeks but this could well vary as the work is very weather dependent.
During this time, the Mill will be closed to the public. However, we look forward to welcoming you to the Windmill in the Summer months.
