Windmill Update:

Even without the sweeps our Windmill still looks stunning in this Autumn landscape.

Of the four sweeps on the Mill two were found to be in need of renewal so these are being rebuilt by Paul our millwright at his headquarters in Broad Oak and when these sweeps are completed they will be attached to the new stocks which were made in Holland and which are now with Pau. The replacing of the sweeps, which will probably take two days, will be very dependant on weather conditions as the ground needs to be dry enough for the large and heavy crane, and also a mean wind speed of less than 10mph is needed for the crane to work with safety.

Thank you all for your interest in our stunning village landmark and for your patience during this extensive repair period.

We’re very pleased to announce details of our new exhibition ‘From The Earth’ featuring three distinctive Sussex artists, each with a unique take on their chosen discipline.

You’ll find Mark who blends photography, painting and collage, Alan who translates architectural precision into ceramic art and Gareth who paints landscapes in Acrylic and Oil.

The exhibition opens this Wednesday, 30th September and is on until Sunday 25th November.
