About This Artist:

In my younger days when at School I loved to sketch and draw, particularly people and portraits. Later, I also used to do sketches for my own children’s homework while they were growing up at school.

After retiring from the City some ten years ago, with time on my hands, I decided to join a drawing class at my local Art school. During the class I had the opportunity to try painting, I loved it, and I haven’t stopped since. I now work in acrylic and oil on both canvas and paper. I am primarily influenced by the impressionists and Vincent Van Gogh.

Since retiring, I’ve moved to Saltdean, Brighton with my family and love to paint the landscape around Brighton. I’m particularly inspired by the atmosphere of the city streets, the North Lanes, the people, the markets, the cafes and the vibrant colours.
