About This Exhibition:
Sarah’s work is rooted in direct observation, exploring the body as a lived, expressive presence rather than an ideal. She is drawn to natural, unguarded poses and the quiet narratives they hold.
Sarah is a 57-year-old, self-taught figurative artist based in Alfriston. Although she has always enjoyed creating, for the past 12 years her main focus has been oil painting, alongside drawing, with a particular interest in the human form. Her practice is an act of looking closely and honouring the honesty of the figure.
The Grange Gallery (Rottingdean Heritage) is located on The Green in the picturesque village-on-the-sea of Rottingdean in East Sussex. We are opposite the village pond and The Plough Public House. The exhibition is on a first floor (above Rottingdean Library) and a chairlift is available. Gallery opening hours are Wednesday to Saturday 10.00 am to 4.00 pm and Sunday 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Admission free.
