The Grange
We’re very pleased to release this joint statement: ‘The Parish Council and Rottingdean Heritage have had a productive exploratory meeting with BHCC about the possible transfer of the Grange Head Lease. All parties agreed the importance of maintaining The Grange as a community asset – the building is a vital local amenity. The high-level principles of a possible transfer were discussed and BHCC will commission a condition report on the Building prior to any more detailed talks.’
The Windmill
This smock windmill was erected on Beacon Hill in 1802 and still survives today – although the prevailing South-Westerly winds on this exposed part of the South Downs means that the Mill needs constant attention and maintenance and this will continue during 2026 by Rottingdean Heritage.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Grade 2 listed landmark here in Rottingdean.
