Discover Rottingdean’s facinating past at our Museum — from Saxon beginnings and wartime stories to the remarkable “Daddy Long Legs” sea train, and the many famous artists and writers who once called the village home.

The Museum features wonderful displays of local history, including:

  • The Daddy Long Legs — Brighton’s extraordinary sea-going railway on stilts
  • The internationally renowned Copper family, keepers of an unbroken folk-singing tradition
  • Rooms dedicated to celebrated residents such as Edward Burne-Jones and Rudyard Kipling
  • Rottingean during The Second World War
